The most populous of the five boroughs: known for its fierce individuality, entrepreneurial drive, creative spark, and distinctive accent, Brooklyn is the spirit of the boroughs. Take a deeper dive into the many neighborhoods of the Borough of Homes and Churches and see how they got their names, along with some historical nuggets that make each spot unique.

Arguing over neighborhood borders is not unique to New York City, though there is a certain pride taken in doing so in the five boroughs. The intent of this project is moreso to focus on the historical origins of neighborhood names verses the total and complete accuracy on their borders. Multiple sources were summarized to best set the borders for each neighborhood, though it is always accepted that differing opinions will persevere.
