Hundreds of homes catalogued with the National Registry of Historic Places, Aged Sycamore trees lining almost every street, Former home of Brown Brothers Nursery during the Flower City boom, and the vast Tryon Park are just some of the parts that make up the historic Browncroft neighborhood. Street cars serviced the neighborhood up and down Winton and Blossom until World War II when the streets were reclaimed for buses and cars.

The colors of the shirt also signify the unique character of this neighborhood: Brown for the Brown Brothers Nursery, one of the horticultural titans responsible for one of Rochester's most popular nicknames: The Flower City, and kelly green for the resolute sycamore trees that stand guard along the neighborhood's many quiet streets and parks as well as the parks themselves and the ever-growing offerings of the former nursery that made up most of the neighborhood.

The Rochester subway system traveled west to east servicing as much of the city neighborhoods as possible: Residents and visitors of Browncroft would primarily jump on and off the East Avenue station for access.
