Joining the ethnic ranks of Frankfurt and Dublin neighborhoods, Polish Town established itself as a welcoming community for Slavic immigrants. Reminders of the old neighborhood remain along Hudson Ave. with street names like Warsaw, Sobieski, Kosciusko, and Pulaski. Another beacon of Polish influence is the St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, contributing Romanesque Revival architecture and an Eastern-European helmut dome to the city landscape.
